A PLACE OF WORSHIP

DESIGN REQUIREMENTS
Each student needs to design a place of worship of his/her choice as an effective place for the community of the site (young, old, middle-aged) to gather, interact, hold their charity events, etc OTHER than the normal acts of worship
The maximum three-storey place center must be able to accommodate at least 300 people at any one time and the floor area for the ground and upper floors should not be more than 900m2.
To maximize the potential of the site, students need to plan the site layout with proper arrangement of the place of worship, provision of ample car parking spaces (including for staff), smooth vehicular circulation with appropriate site entrance, exit points, etc.
The main building and whole development of the place of worship must consider the topography condition of the proposed site and the tropical climate of Malaysia.
SITE ANALYSIS
The analysis of the project site is carried out as a group which consists of all my studio mates. This group's tasks include carrying out site analysis, searching for the latest information regarding statutory requirements and relevant precedent studies.

BOARD PRESENTATION
DESIGN CONCEPT - RESONANCE 共鸣 : spread virtue, spread peace 尘尘混入，刹刹圆融
RESONANCE occurs when someone is being affected or appealed to someone’s idea in a personal or emotional way. In physics, resonance brings out the meaning of the reinforcement or prolongation of sound by reflection from a surface or by the synchronous vibration of a neighboring object. All sound resonances are due to constructive and destructive interference. Only the resonant frequencies interfere constructively to form standing waves, while others interfere destructively and are absent.
Resonance: spread virtue, spread peace is used as a design concept in order to bring out Buddhism’s belief in spreading virtue and peace, being good, and being kind. Besides, the design concept is also applied to solve the problem issue of high temperature, low wind flow and no outstanding view by applying architectural passive design strategies. Water feature is also applied in the design in order to bring peacefulness in the temple and also solve the problem issues by lowering down the temperature and as a good feature which will provide good views to the occupants.
