Project 1 consists of two parts which are Project 1A and 1B. Both artworks require me to use suitable line weights black technical pens to accomplish it. Based on the theme ' Me, Myself and I', I need to have a great understanding of myself in order to portray myself in terms of words and graphic. Project 1 helps me to learn how to express myself and let me think of my past and my future.
Project 1A : Architectural style lettering essay writing

Project 1A require me to introduce myself in an essay using architectural style lettering with black technical pens. This is the first time that I am first introduced to architectural lettering and it is also my first time to learn how to write in architectural style. This project seems to be easy but in actual, it needs a lot of patience while writing in order to write a neat and tidy essay. Basically, I start off on this project by practicing architectural lettering on A3 papers and also write an essay about myself. Then, I try to organize my essay on A3 cartridge paper in order to ensure there are enough breathing spaces so that it won't seem to be packed with words. I have learnt the importance the architectural style lettering while presenting ideas as it will look tidy and also can attract people's attention on my essay. To me, This project is quite interesting.
Project 1B : Portrait drawing with lines

Project 1B require me to graphically compose my face with drawing lines of my face using black technical pens. I need to use different line weights of pens to draw it in order to differentiate the lighter part and the darker part. I find this part of the project is quite interesting as I use to draw portrait or any other drawings using pencils. By using pens, I need to be careful at all times and be attentive while drawing the lines using pens to avoid any mistakes. At first, I draw outlines for my portrait as shown in my sketches as I thought it is the right way to do so. Then, I found out that the purpose of the lines is to show different shades in order to let my drawing pop out and look 3D.
Besides, I like to draw portraits in an abstract way so that my drawing will look interesting and attractive. Basically, the theme that I personally give to this portrait and also the concept of my portrait is 'Hope'. In the drawing, I draw myself in a way that I am looking in a distance which represents that I am looking forward to my future while the peace sign of my hand covering one side of my eyes indicates that I am looking forward to my future in an optimistic mind. Moreover, I blend my hair with some famous buildings that I always get riveted to such as Sydney Opera House, Eiffel Tower and Petronas Twin Towers. Furthermore, I also combine my hair with a long staircase from the bottom to the top. The combination of my head with a long staircase and the famous buildings actually represents that it will be a long journey for me to get to grow and become an architect and also design buildings for community so I need to work hard at all times and put concerted efforts to climb up my journey staircase in order to achieve success. I love this project a lot as it helps me to think of myself in the present and at the same time prepare myself for my future.
