This project consists of two parts, first is constructing a model by applying principle of order while second is about technical drawings of the model which have created using black ink technical pens.

Project 3A : 3D Form

In this project, I learn about 'form, space and order' which are very crucial in architecture. Basically, it is about creating a form within a space which the form represents building while the space represents an area which the building is created or constructed. Besides, I have also learnt about principle of order which is very important in designing, such as symmetry, asymmetry, hierarchy, datum, repetition and transformation.

My design concept for the model that I have made is "the tower of success". The principle of order which I have applied is dimensional transformation which I build up triangles by gradually decreasing in sizes from bottom to the top and also principle of asymmetry. In this model, the triangles from the bottom to the top represents the journey which I need to climb in order to get the success on the top which is the diamond forms by two smallest triangles. Moreover, at the back of the model I form an hourglass with two triangles to represent that I will get to see the result of my continuous hard work when time passes.

I have learnt to make models as neat as possible as it is an architectural way using art card. Besides, it is also my first time making models in a neat way using art card so I actually quite glad to have the chance to learn neat model making techniques. Well, it is my first model making using art card, I really hope that I can improve my skills next time as i believe in practice makes perfect.

Project 3B : Projection Drawings

In second part of this project, I get to explore in technical drawings which includes

  • TOP VIEW (Scale 1:2)

  • FRONT ELEVATION (Scale 1:2)

  • REAR ELEVATION (Scale 1:2)

  • LEFT ELEVATION (Scale 1:2)

  • RIGHT ELEVATION (Scale 1:2)

  • ISOMETRIC IN 30 DEGREES (Scale 1:2)

This is the very first time that I learn about technical drawings. It really requires patience and fully concentrate attention on it as I need to get the actual measurements of the model and draw in a scale of 1:2. In this project, I use T square, set square, pencils and black technical pens to draw the technical drawings and watercolor to colour the shades and shadows. I have learnt about how to determine and draw shadows using 45 degree. I have tried my best to determine the shadows after figuring out the technique of drawing shadows. Hope that the next time, I can improve myself and get to explore more shadows drawing techniques on different shapes.

Last but not least, I look forward to my next model design project. Really did hope that I get to improve myself through keep practicing.
